One person was on Wednesday tested positive for Coronavirus, taking the total number of active infected people to five in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Meanwhile, 14 patients have been cured in the UT as one more person, who was tested positive for COVID-19, was treated successfully and discharged from hospital.
Ladakh Spokesperson, Commissioner Secretary, Rigzin Samphel on Wednesday said that one new positive case was reported in the Union Territory. “The patient is from Chuchot Yokma in Leh,” he added.
With this, he said there are five active positive cases in Ladakh, including four in Leh and one in Kargil. “Fourteen patients have been discharged from the hospital but kept under quarantine,” he added.
He said in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 among the locals, the Department of Health has adopted an aggressive strategy of mass sampling. “As per the ranking of the states and UTs on the basis of number of sample sent per population of a million, Ladakh stands at number one in the country,” he said.
